Dad’s In Heaven With Nixon – Autism Documentary

Janice Murray had refused to accept how the psychiatrists and physicians portrayed her son’s autism diagnosis over 40 years ago.  They painted a future picture of her son Chris’ life as devastatingly grim with recommendations of placing him in an institution.

Desiring to capture how the loving determination of his mother helped pave the way for Chris to exceed the autism expectations of 40 years ago, Mrs. Murray’s oldest son, Tom, began filming his brother Chris’ story.  The film quickly evolved into a multi-layered family lineage beyond anyone’s expectations.

As seen on Showtime Television and now released on DVD, Tom Murray’s Documentary, Dad’s in Heaven with Nixon is a heartwarming and true story of the Murray family embracing Chris’ unique differences, as well as their journey toward acceptance and forgiveness rooted in a family history of alcoholism and mental illness.
