Announcing a #LiberatingWebinars collaboration with Autistic, Typing and other autistic BIPoC

Our Community Outreach Coordinator, Lei Wiley-Mydske, and our Equity, Justice & Representation Consultant, Morénike Giwa Onaiwu, announced today that they have begun recording a series of webinars for Autistic Women & Nonbinary Network’s ongoing #LiberatingWebinars series:
We’re excited to let everyone know that we have been working during the past several weeks to begin a series of webinars highlighting the voices, activism and work of autistic BIPoC. Today, June 4, we recorded the first of these webinars with Autistic, Typing, an autistic Ojibwe mom of autistic kids, as a part of our #LiberatingWebinars programming.
We feel so fortunate to work with Autistic, Typing and to feature their expertise and perspective in additional webinars over the next few months. We are also committed in this series to feature many more BIPoC bloggers, activists and advocates in the autistic community whose work and contributions are too often ignored.
We are sharing this statement in the interest of accountability and transparency as we honor our commitment to restorative, transformative & disability justice, and the promises we set forth in our Statement on Honoring BIPoC Contributions that you can read here.
