Autism Women’s Network E-Mentoring

Autism Women’s Network [AWN] has been working hard behind the scenes to put together a program that will enable women on the autism spectrum to support each other through a peer mentor program conducted online.

E-Mentoring has proven to be a successful form of support for many different groups of people, and has been particularly successful for young people with disabilities.

Katharine Annear, AWN International Director of Australia will head up the program;  she has been involved in the delivery of face-to-face mentor programs for 15 years, and has developed an ASD specific peer mentor program.

“I have seen first hand the benefits of mentoring for young people in the areas of employment, and social, and life skills. Mentoring is a win-win situation as everyone involved has their lives enriched, and learns new skills.”

If you believe that you may have something to offer as a mentor please contact Katharine:[email protected]

You will be sent a short questionnaire, and be given the opportunity to ask as many questions as you need to feel comfortable about deciding to becoming a mentor. If you become a mentor you will be required to undertake some online training. Mentoring will be conducted online via the AWN Forum, and mentors will be provided with guidance and supervision.

“AWN, with its international membership of experienced women on the spectrum is in a unique position to facilitate mentoring relationships that will enable women to grow.”
